New Music Video Tuesday!!!
From our boys in Seattle; Step Daddy is a high energy, four piece progressive post-alternative apocalyptic funk metal band based out of Seattle, WA.Their influences are vast, with a guitar sound that makes one reminisce of thrashy Rage Against the Machine riffs, fused with Jimmy Page’s intellectual angle to the instrument and unpretentious jazz elements delightfully marry into this new hard rock genre. Complex, pounding, syncopated drum grooves inspired by the likes of Bonham, Weckl, Vinnie Paul, Danny Carey, and Matt Cameron (to name a few), are coupled with thick, fat, brooding bass lines and precision execution provide intelligent yet infectious grooves that pound the listener into joyous submission. Lead vocalist Kit rounds out the sound with catchy melodies, playful lyrics, intense, fun, and exciting presence.
This bands modality is all tongue in cheek fun. They are half intense intellectual hard rock and half comedy show. If one were take them too seriously they might miss the point entirely. Step Daddy is a true dichotomy of the times whose incomparable sound and energy consistently leaves the audience wanting more.
The follow up to 2009’s critically acclaimed Hunting My Dress, this new record displays a striking duality: light and dark, head and heart, it juxtaposes the macabre and visceral with a disarmingly candid intimacy. The resulting combination is powerfully evocative, with overarching themes of biology, nature and humanity - Hoop’s stone-turning observations are mired in the equal beauty and violence of a nature that, for her, is clearly red in tooth and claw.
BOTTLE CAP ROCKETS is a New Jersey based three piece Rockabilly/Roots-Rock band formed by Singer/Songwriter Al Gross (Al has sold a number of his works to Universal Music for use in movies and TV shows including the Academy Award winning film Monster starring Charlize Theron).
